Thank you to everyone who made the Power of the Ocean Gala such a successful kick off to the 2012 Ocean of Hope campaign and fundraiser for the Sarcoma Alliance's Assistance Fund.

Both the Outrigger Team and Paddleboarders are training hard for their upcoming season and planning their racing calendar.

The season will kick off with the Cold Hands Paddle on March 4th and will be followed by Paddle for Humanity on April 28. The Paddle for Huminity is new for 2012 and will be a great way for those new to the sport of paddleboarding to get some great race experience.

The Ocean of Hope (O2H) is the Alliance's largest fundraiser and consists of a series of ocean races. You can donate on behalf of the paddleboarders and the outrigger team, who are training for next year's races.

You can view pictures of the 2011Catalina Classic Paddleboard Marathon in Manhattan Beach, Calif. It was an exciting and inspiring day.

Hand in Hand: The Suzanne R. Leider Memorial Assistance Fund was created to support sarcoma patients in finding the treatment they need. Hand in Hand offers financial assistance for second opinion consultations by reimbursing expenses related to travel, phone bills, costs of the evaluation, and related expenses.

The mission of the Sarcoma Alliance Peer-to-Peer Network is to facilitate positive relationships between individuals affected by sarcoma so that they may find emotional support, encouragement and information. After you submit an online application and confidentiality agreement, a Sarcoma Alliance staff member will look for other members of the Network with whom you would be a good match.
