The Association of Cancer Online Resources, Inc. (ACOR)

ACOR is a charitable organization, dedicated to providing information and support to cancer patients and those who care for them through Internet mailing lists and Web based resources. The SARCOMA list is just one of approximately 100 mailing lists within ACOR, and has 340 individual subscribers as of this writing. Subscribers are sarcoma survivors, caregivers, friends of those with sarcoma or medical professionals interested in sharing their experience, hope and information with each other in a safe and informal manner. Posts to the lists are distributed as either individual, single emails or in digest form once per day. Email content can range widely, from humor and poetry, to requests for medical information or common treatment options, to alternative therapies, to support for survivors.

I've been a subscriber to various ACOR lists since November 1998, and I am currently volunteering as a co-owner of the SARCOMA list. I was diagnosed with Ewing's sarcoma or PNET (Peripheral Neuroectodermal Tumor) in February 1998. My personal experience with the SARCOMA list has been tremendously positive. The list has helped me in my own journey to health, and it has provided fellowship and needed information for many others as well. If you feel that this type of support organization can help you or someone you know deal effectively with this disease, we'd love to have you join our group.

Sincerely,
Brad Wilson (co-owner, ACOR SARCOMA listserv)
